First edition, quarto, one of 6,000 printed, with pink tone in frontispiece lithograph, bound in publisher's paper-covered illustrated boards with fragmentary acetate jacket, signed by Chagall on title page in blue ballpoint ink, illustrated throughout with fifteen color lithographs by Mourlot (including covers and title),of which four are folding and two are printed in black only; with reproductions of Chagall's works from 1908 to 1957 printed on glossy paper in black-and-white and color at the end, some wear to covers, 9 1/4 x 8 in.
