Unsigned, dated c. 1905 by the Thaddeus family and the artist's biographer (see below).
Oil on canvas, 36 1/4 x 28 in. (89.7 x 69.5 cm),in a period frame (under glass).
Condition: Not examined out of frame.
Provenance: Presented by the artist to a neighboring family c. 1907; then by family descent; by purchase to Thaddeus descendants in 1998; through to the current owner.

N.B. Born in 1894, Freddy (Frederick Francis) Thaddeus was one of the artist's two sons. A copy of the above-mentioned biography accompanies the lot.
