Miniature Brass Steam Engine Model, France, c. 1870, original lacquered brass stationary engine with furnace, whistle cock, 1/2-in. stroke, and 1 3/4-in. dia. six-spoke flywheel, mounted on a mahogany base with plaque reading "Orestes Pagan/Fabricante/Filadelfia/1870," lg. 10 in.
Note: Reportedly made for the French booth for the Centennial International Exhibition of 1876, the first United States World Fair.
