Amsler & Wirtz Field Clinometer, 211 Chestnut Street, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 9 3/4-in. lacquered brass arm with two sighting vanes and spirit level with triple apertures, ball-and-socket gimballed tripod mount, housed in its original walnut case with paper label reading as above.
Note: Charles T. Amsler emigrated from Switzerland. He was active in Philadelphia from 1848 to 1855, and as Amsler & Wirtz from 1856 to 1861.
