Rare Julius Hanks Bow Compass, Troy, New York, c. 1834-45, original lacquered instrument with 7-in. engraved brass dial, slide weight blued-steel needle, inset bubble levels, marked "J. Hanks Patent/Troy, N.Y./O. Hanks," 12-in. dia. bow with adjustable sighting pinnulas.
