Simon Willard Inlaid Mahogany Isaiah Thomas Jr. Labeled Tall Clock, Roxbury, Massachusetts c. 1800, the fret-top hood with three brass finials surmounting the glazed hood door with brass-trimmed dial mat over the "Wilson" painted iron roman numeral dial signed "Simon Willard," in block lettering, floral spandrels, recessed date and moon's age in the arch and pierced steel hands all flanked by freestanding brass stop-fluted columns, molded edge full-length waist door with simple string inlay decoration, stop-fluted quarter-columns, similar decorated case bottom resting on a step-molded ogee bracket feet, eight-day time and hour strike brass movement with recoil escapement and rack and snail strike system powered by two tin-cased weights and regulated by a brass-faced pendulum bob and iron rod, ht. 94 1/2 in.
