Embroidered Coverlet, China, late 19th/early 20th century, two panels depicting pheasants and songbirds perched on branches amid peonies and bamboo on a pale pink silk ground, stitched together to create a mirrored image, 87 1/4 x 89 in.
Provenance: Acquired by a member of the Skidelsky family between 1900 and 1918 while living in Harbin, China, then by descent to the present owner.
