Salvation for Jerusalem, plate 98 from the series The Bible, from the edition of 100, published by Tériade, Paris, 1958 (Cramer Books, 30). Initialed "M. Ch." in pencil l.r., numbered "64/100" in pencil l.l. Etching with hand-coloring on paper, plate size 11 1/2 x 9 3/4 in. (29.2 x 24.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Gentle toning, not examined out of frame.

Out of the frame the sheet is Arches wove paper with all deckled edges, and measures 21 x 15 3/8 inches. The top and bottom margins have been folded under at about 1 1/2 inches from their edges to fit the work into the frame. There are breaks to some paper fibers along these two folds. The sheet is stained and toned, and has some scattered foxing (see images).
