Signed faintly "Robert ..." l.l., identified on exhibition labels from The New York Cultural Center and from Naussau County Museum of Fine Art (see below), both affixed to the back of the frame.
Oil on canvas, 17 x 14 in. (43.0 x 35.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Lined, retouch, craquelure, surface imperfections.

Provenance: The estate of Richard Mellon Scaife, Pennsylvania. The proceeds from the sale of this lot will benefit a Pennsylvania art institution.

Frame dimensions are 26 x 22 /34 in.

Retouch to fill craquelure which presents primarily as lines in a vein-like pattern which may have been an old tear. The craquelure appears stable, but it is gently tented. An area of brushed in retouch in the lower center in the foreground path and and a couple of dots of retouch along the bottom edge. Varnish has a slightly glossy feel.
