Signed "Ch. Jacque" l.r., titled on a presentation plaque, with a label from Scott & Fowles Co., New York, affixed to the stretcher.
Oil on canvas, 25 1/2 x 21 1/4 in. (64.7 x 53.9 cm),framed.
Condition: Lined, stable craquelure, surface grime.

Provenance: Collection of Mary Lucia Leighton, New York City; by descent to the current private collection, New Hampshire.

Small area of raised but stable horizontal craquelure measuring 1-1/2 inches across which is more heavily varnished, located in the sky 6 inches in from the left side and 2 3/4 inches down from the top edge. Overal varnish appears discolored. Lining is quite old.
