Povl Dinesen for Soborg Mobler Teak Vanity and Chest of Drawers, Denmark, c. 1960, four drawers, drop-front top drawer with slide-out mirror flanked by six small drawers, bears both the designer's and maker's labels on back, ht. 37, wd. 35 1/2, dp. 19 in.

Provenance: A Wellfleet Massachusetts Estate.

Note: Professor Kenneth A. Johnson was a National Science Foundation Fellow at the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Copenhagen in the 1950s prior to joining M.I.T. and purchased many of the items in Denmark that would later furnish his Karl Koch-designed home in Lincoln, Massachusetts.

Small gouge in the second drawer right side, some veneer loss bottom and lft edge of third drawer, small water staining to top, breaks and losses to the mirror, and paint residue to the left side.
