Joseph Pennell (American, 1860-1926)
West Door, St. Paul's, 1903, edition probably of 50 (Wuerth, 272). Signed "JPennell" in pencil l.c., inscribed "Goulding imp" in pencil l.l. Etching on paper, plate size 11 1/16 x 8 11/16 in., matted, unframed.
Condition: Deckled left and lower edges, mat burn, glue residue and pencil annotations to outer margins.
Note: Jared Bowen writes, "Pennell's moody streetscape here is entrancing. It calls to mind both Whistler's most atmospheric etchings and a Jason Bourne film."
