Large Washoe Polychrome Basketry Bowl, Nevada, c. 1875-85, flat-bottom form with repeated geometric designs decorating the sloping sides, (minor stitch loss), ht. 4 1/4, dia. 14 1/4 in.
Provenance: The Charles and Blanche Derby collection, Northampton, Massachusetts; Harold Gross collection, Springfield, Massachusetts; Sotheby Parke Bernet, New York, April 23, 1994, Lot 332. The basket comes with an appraisal by Fredrick Dockstader, October 1974.
