Mimbres Black-on-white Picture Bowl, c. 950-1150 AD, painted on the interior with a figure of a turtle, the shell with a checkerboard pattern, broad and narrow concentric horizontal bands on the rim, dia. 8 3/4 in.
Provenance: Private collection, Ohio; purchased from Fenn Galleries, Santa Fe, 1984.
Has a number of repaired cracks.
