Hopi Painted Pottery Canteen, c. early 20th century, the round flat-side form with spout and two lugs, the front with dark red and dark brown abstract feather pattern on a creamy-orange ground, ht. 7 1/2, wd. 8 1/4 in.
Provenance: Private collection, Long Island, New York; Wheelwright Museum of the American Indian, Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Discoloration at the spout; painted design appears to have some fading.
