Orson Byron Lowell (American, 1871-1956)

A Social Gathering. Signed "ORSON/LOWELL" l.l., identified in a printed label affixed to the frame backing paper. Pen and ink and ink wash on paper, sight size 20 7/8 x 29 7/8 in., framed. Condition: With publisher's pencil inscriptions top and bottom, whiting in u.r. corner of the composition, paper patch overlaying l.l. corner of the sheet with a small tear at the left edge, staining to the margins, soiling, areas of toning, not examined out of frame.

N.B. The label affixed to the reverse suggests that this was an illustration for a fictional story and dates the drawing to c. 1900.
