Engraved parchment General Land Office grant fulfilled by hand, registering William Carpenter of Sangamon County Illinois's purchase of eighty acres of land in Springfield, Illinois, signed by Adams, countersigned by George Graham as Commissioner of the General Land Office, framed and mounted with portrait of Adams, small natural hole in the parchment, old folds, some toning at the top, 15 1/4 x 9 1/2 in.
