Watercolor Mourning Picture for Susanna Brown, probably Berlin, Massachusetts, c. 1820, central urn on a plinth with mourning inscription, flanked by two women in light blue gowns and a willow tree, with pines and a townscape in the background, reproduction eglomise mat with round aperture, image dia. 11 1/2 in.
Provenance: Barbara Pollock, Highland Park, Illinois, at the New York Fall Antique Show, November 18, 1999.
Note: The picture is said to have come from the collection of an antiques dealer living in Berlin, Massachusetts, whose inventory consisted of primarily antiques from the Berlin area.
