Enfield Short Rifle, c. 1861, walnut stock with "18" stamped on both sides of the butt and below the barrel tang, lock marked "1861/TOWER," barrel marked "S/HC" in an oval with proof marks and "18," bayonet lug stamped "18," and the ramrod is marked "F. PRESTON/MANCHESTER," barrel lg. 33 1/2, overall lg. 50 in.
