English Commercial Hunting/Trade Gun, c. mid-18th century, .71 caliber, cherry stock with French-style butt, silver wrist plate, British commercial lock marked "HECKSTALL" with engraved lines and foliate designs, octagonal to round barrel with British crown and scepters proof mark, brass serpent side plate, and a wooden ramrod, barrel lg. 46 1/2, overall lg. 61 1/2 in.

Provenance: The George C. Neumann collection to the present owner.

Some dings and nicks in the stock, with a repair in the fore stock above the middle ramrod pipe, and the lock functions properly.
