Watercolor Mourning Picture for Elizabeth Jewett, Pownal, Vermont, c. 1816, a blue urn sits atop an inscribed plinth, with a couple dressed in black mourning clothes and a large willow tree, in an early 20th century frame, ht. 13 1/2, wd. 10 in. (sight).

Provenance: Pembroke Antiques, Lee, Massachusetts, February 1977.

Note: Elizabeth Smith Jewett was born in Bennington, Vermont, and married Loan Jewett of Pownal, Vermont, in 1800.
