Étienne Lenoir Lacquered Brass Reflecting Circle No. 33, Paris, 18th century, 11-in. pierced six-arm open circle engraved "Le noir Paris No. 33," scale measurement of 0-720, index arm with vernier and fine adjustment knob, horizon mirror, and shade, the full-length arm with 6-in. telescope with dual adjusting knobs, mirror, sunshades, and vernier, turned walnut handle with brass ferrule, all housed in a dovetailed walnut box.
Note: Lenoir's example no. 10 is in the Smithsonian's National Museum of American History.
