Description:

Early Black-painted Longcase Clock, Thomas James, London, flat-top oak case with hinged square hood door, engraved brass dial with applied roman numeral chapter ring, floral-decorated spandrels, single pierced iron hand, and reads "Thomas James Fecit 1697 in the center," full-length waist door and simple molded base, thirty-hour pull-up four-pillar or lantern-style movement, ht. 83 in.

movement pillars are bent, dead beat escapment, case joints are loose.
