Description:

Thangka Depicting One Thousand-armed Avalokitesvara, Tibetan China, 19th/20th century, standing on a lotus throne against a radiating aureole surrounded with flowers, eleven-headed in three tiers, with Amitabha Buddha head on top, distemper and gold on cotton, bordered with a gold-painted fabric mat, triple bordered with brocade fabric, overall 48 x 39 1/2, painting 29 1/4 x 21 5/8 in.

minor loss of gilt details and pigments, some stain to back.
