Description:

Togidashi Maki-e Miniature Chest, Japan, 18th/19th century, with two hinged doors and three knobbed drawers inside, decorated with figures at various pursuits in hiramaki-e and takamaki-e and shakudo, signed "Shokyusai" to the interior of the right door, 3 1/4 x 3 7/8 x 2 1/2 in.

one door missing a nail to the hinge, minor wear particularly corners with tiny dents, nicks, surface scratches.
