Nashiji Gold-lacquered Portable Shrine, Japan, Edo period, cylindrical oviform with two hinged doors, holding a standing Buddha with his hands in varada mudra, a metal knob with ring on top, decorated with Tokugawa clan crests in gold, ht. 5 1/8 in.
