Imari Bowl, Japan, early 20th century, the deep bowl ribbed toward the barbed mouth rim, decorated with a diaper band with peonies and cranes to the interior, a stylized floral band to the exterior, "Fukagawa sei" mark with Mt. Fuji on base, ht. 3 1/2, dia. 8 1/2 in.
Provenance: Property of the photographer Orrin Freeman, who owned a dry goods and Shanghai imports store in Yokohama, by descent to present owner.
