Carroll, Lewis (1832-1898) Through the Looking-Glass, and What Alice Found There. Boston: Lee and Shepard; New York: Lee, Shepard, and Dillingham, 1872. First edition, first printing with "wade" for "wabe" on page 21, octavo, illustrated throughout by John Tenniel, no advertisement leaf at end, bound in a Chivers patent binding of half red leather with textured cloth boards, worn, with some spotting, staining, and other defects to contents (read by children), binding rubbed and worn, endcaps chipped with loss, 7 x 4 1/2 in.
