Portrait of a Young Man in a Black Jacket. Inscribed and dated "Painted By/Wm H. Towns/May 1842" on the back of the board. Oil on academy board, 9 3/4 x 7 1/2 in., in a molded and gold-painted frame. Condition: Craquelure, small area of pigment loss l.r.
