Description:

Meissen Porcelain Bird Service, Germany, late 19th/early 20th century, gilded trim with polychrome enameled centers depicting a variety of birds, each perched on a slight tree and bordered with insects and colorful flowers, including twelve plates, dia. 9 1/2, and a deep platter with four birds, dia. 17 in.; second quality underglaze crossed swords marks.
Estimate $600-800

Plates: Each with slight gilt rim wear; seven plates with areas of gilt rim retouched; one plate with patch of glaze loss to bird; one plate with rim restoration.
