George II Sterling Silver Salver, London, 1755-56, Richard Rugg I, maker, with an engraved coat of arms to center, on three scrolled legs, dia. 12 in., approx. 29.4 troy oz.

Note: Reportedly passed down through the family from John Wetherall, father of Sir Frederick Augustus Wetherall (1754-1842). A handwritten note detailing the provenance is included with the lot.
Estimate $800-1,200

Surface wear abrasions to top surface, most pretty light. One deeper abrasions to lower right of coat of arms. Several scattered pinprick dents. Feet resoldered with some cracking to joints.
