Description:

Sapphire and Diamond Ring, centering an oval sapphire measuring 8.23 x 7.15 x 5.20 mm, surrounded by two tiers of old European-cut diamonds, gold mount, size 4 3/4.

Provenance: According to family history, the top portion of the ring was originally a brooch that was given by Alvin William Krech to his wife Angeline in the early 20th century. It was converted by New York jeweler Grant Peacock in the 1970s for Krech's grandson R. Campbell James of Newport, Rhode Island, for use as an engagement ring.

Note: Accompanied by AGL document # 1089834, dated January 23, 2018, stating that the sapphire is Kashmir origin with no gemological evidence of heat.

A few very small loupe visible nicks. Diamonds lively and well matched.
