Gentleman's Auction with Jonathan Soroff Online
Description:
Six Military Flasks, early 20th century, various styles, all at least half-wrapped in either leather or alligator skin, some identified, including one engraved for "COL. T.H. GOOD" and one for "J.B. Griffith," one with relation to the HMS Minotaur, one monogrammed and lettered "US ARMY," and one with a reference to Princess Charlotte of Wales, ht. to 6 3/4 in.
Note: "The antique flasks, with their dents and patina, many of them monogrammed, each tell a story, and judging by how many of them seemed to have been in use during wartime, those stories are undoubtedly dramatic. As I've always maintained: A good flask will keep you warm on a cold night. And I imagine these saw some very cold nights, indeed." - Jonathan Soroff
