Stocker, R.C.S. (active 1840) Original English Architectural Sketchbook, 1840s. Large folio scrapbook containing approximately 192 pencil, pen-and-ink, monochromatic gouache and watercolors of churches, castles, cathedrals, private homes, landscapes, architectural details, church interiors, funeral and other monuments, crypts, doorways, and other subjects, all English, mostly from Berkshire, others done in Kent, Buckinghamshire, Oxford, Hastings, Gloucester, Durham, and elsewhere; each drawing on a separate leaf pasted into the album, contemporary half leather, worn, boards detached, worn, pages detached, 14 1/2 x 12 1/4 in.
