A Double-sided Study
Graphite on paper, 18 1/2 x 11 9/16 in. (47.1 x 29.2 cm), in a double-sided frame.
Condition: Toning, paper folded to create sixteen rectangles, most containing multiple sketches, wear and staining along the creases, glass broken on the back of the frame.
Provenance: Christie's New York, Sale 5472, Lot 275A, December 9, 1983.
Toning overall, thinning and weakening to paper along the folds, with acid burn along the upper and lower horizontal folds (center horizontal fold does not show acid burn).
