Continental School, 17th/18th Century
Signed indistinctly l.l.
Oil on canvas, 8 1/4 x 14 3/4 in. (21.0 x 37.5 cm), framed.
Condition: Lined, tear to l.l. quadrant that does not break the lining on the reverse, craquelure.
The uniforms and weapons in this work appear to be 17th century in style. The texture of the original canvas is course. The lining is adhered with BEVA or something similar. There are tiny losses on the aforementioned tear but the surface seems to be stable otherwise.
