Spring Blossoms, 1950, edition of 130. Signed "Gustave Baumann" in pencil and with hand-in-heart chop l.r., titled in pencil l.l., numbered and dated "II 120 130 50" in pencil l.r., artist's label affixed to the backing paper. Color woodcut with metal leaf on oatmeal laid paper with hand-in-heart watermark, image size 12 3/8 x 13 1/4 in. (31.3 x 33.5 cm),framed.
Condition: Pale toning and mat burn to sheet, brown paper tape to left edge (recto),brown paper tape and masking tape to edges on verso.
N.B. The work depicts a hillside in Wyoming, New York. Baumann created a smaller version of this composition in 1919. This later version is larger and reversed, and has a bolder pattern.

The sheet measures 14 1/2 x 17 1/8 inches. The toning and mat burn are outside of the image. the impression is generally very good, except along the left edge where the green dots surrounding the image are faint.
