16th Century Italian Iron Plane, c. 1550, sides chamfered and with simple decoration, brazed sole, scrolled front tote, and carved fruitwood wedge, both tote and body marked with an "S," lg. 10 in.

Provenance: Aaron Rose collection, American Heritage Museum, Sandwich Massachusetts.
