Eight-panel Double-sided Table Screen, China, 19th century, holding thirty-two square and rectangular stone plaques, variously painted with landscapes, flowers, auspicious items, Daoist figures, and a seven-character eight-line poem by Jiajing Emperor of Ming, originally arranged in rows by subject types, but now reassembled in another order, overall ht. 24 5/8, wd. 32 in.

many of plaques broken, some of which are re-assembled into wrong spots, connected with new metal hinges.
