Attributed to Lyonel Feininger (American, 1871-1956)

Catboat. Signed "Feininger." l.l., with pencil inscriptions to the verso. Ink and wash on paper, 3 3/4 x 5 1/4 in., matted, framed. Condition: Affixed to window mat with clear tape to upper edge on the verso, sheet trimmed unevenly and folded at upper edge, deckled right and lower edges, toning, rippling, scattered creases, small tears to right edge, tape remnants to upper edge on the verso, inscribed "398" and "840B" each within a circle in pencil on the verso, an additional sheet with pencil sketches is affixed to the window mat behind the primary composition.
