Joseph Henry Hatfield (American, 1863-1928)

Girl Reading in a Tree. Signed "JHHatfield" l.r., signed and inscribed "JHHatfield/25 Harcourt Studio" on the reverse, with two labels from J.H. Hatfield's Hand Ground Artists' Colors, Canton Junction, Massachusetts, affixed to the reverse. Oil on pressed paperboard, 15 x 12 in., unframed. Condition: Scattered abrasions with small paint losses, losses to edges, varnish discoloration and inconsistencies, minor surface grime.
