Condition: Minor retouch, varnished.
Provenance: Collection of Judge Jon Tom Staton, Edmond, Oklahoma.
Note: The envelope on the table in the painting is addressed to the Honorable Hugh Young in Hillsborough, Tioga County, Pennsylvania, and both the letter and the newspaper are dated 1880. Information relating to Young is contained in a sleeve affixed to the reverse of the painting.

Spots of retouch along the left edge where the canvas meets the liner. Small spot of retouch on the spine of the tan law book.
