N.B. The figure with the eye-patch and halo has been identified as Matthew Culligan, a high-ranking official at The Curtis Publishing Company. Founded in 1891 in Philadelphia, The Curtis Publishing Company published many influential magazines of the early 20th century including The Saturday Evening Post and Ladies' Home Journal. The drawing at hand is likely an earlier version of a 1961 watercolor, Benjamin Franklin, Robert Sherrod and Matthew Culligan, archived by the Norman Rockwell Museum as E97 in the Norman Rockwell Definitive Catalog.
