Oil on canvas, 24 x 19 1/2 in. (61.0 x 49.5 cm),in a Foster Brothers, Boston, frame.
Condition: Lined, minor retouch, craquelure.
Estimate $1,500-2,500
Trimmed of tacking edges and lined. Craquelure primarily on the blue dress and lower areas of the canvas, with some minor areas on the figure's neck. Retouch is minimal, including: a vertical line measuring 5/8 x 1/4 inch at its largest located on the doll's face from the left side of the lips to the bottom of the chin; a 1/2 inch dot on the dress, in the center just below the black band at the neckline; possibly some darkening of the shadows beneath the figure's chin on the right side; a broken line of retouch to the background measuring 2 1/2 inches at the center right edge and a line measuring 2 inches on the left edge to the left of the sleeve.
