Art Deco Platinum and Diamond Ring, prong-set with an old mine cushion-cut diamond weighing approx. 1.25 cts., the shoulders set with old mine-cut diamonds, millegrain accents and engraved shank, size 7, (chips).
Provenance: Purchased by the current owner from Dr. Viola Wertheim Bernard (1907-1998) in 1981. Dr. Bernard was the daughter of Jacob Wertheim, founder of the United Cigar Company. She became a prominent New York psychiatrist who won international recognition for her work in child psychiatry.
