Description:

Red-washed Carved Birch Chest-on-chest, attributed to the Dunlap school of cabinetmakers, southern New Hampshire, late 18th/early 19th century, the upper section with five drawers, the topmost a three-drawer facade centering a fan, set into a lower section with two drawers, the top drawer a two long-drawer facade, the bottom drawer a three-drawer facade centering a fan, all on a cutout and shaped skirt and short cabriole legs, original brass, old surface, ht. 77 1/2, wd. 38 1/2, dp. 20 in.

Provenance: Descended in the Richardson family of Newburyport, Massachusetts; Peter H. Eaton Antiques, Inc., Newbury, Massachusetts, to the current owner.
