Megary Surveyor's Compass, New York, first half 19th century, lacquered brass instrument with a 4-in. silvered dial with engraved floral center and fleur-de-lis representing north, engraved in script "Megary New York," blued-steeled needle, outer divided scale, all housed in the original mahogany box, lg. 11 in.
