Description:
Luigi Olivetti (Italian, 1856-1941)
Young Woman Gathering Roses
Signed and inscribed "Luigi Olivetti/Roma" l.l.
Watercolor on paper, sight size 28 3/4 x 19 7/8 in. (73.0 x 50.4 cm),framed.
Condition: Tack holes to lower corners, subtle rippling, not examined out of frame.
Estimate $500-700
Although the frame was not opened during cataloging, the general condition appears good. The subtle rippling suggests that the paper is not laid down. Although the work is not matted, there appear to be spacers under the lip of the frame, so that the glass does not lay directly on the watercolor.
The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Condition requests can be obtained via email (lot inquiry button) or by telephone to the appropriate gallery location (Boston/617.350.5400 or Marlborough/508.970.3000).
