Italian Carved Giltwood and Painted Cassone, 18th century, rectangular, overall heavily carved with acanthus plumes, hinged molded top over conforming case with vacant interior, front centralized boss with cross motif, resting on deeply scrolled Rococo-style feet, ht. 22 1/2, wd. 56, dp. 26 in.

Back is painted and papered. Restorations throughout to carved elements and feet, overall signs of much wear including chips, nicks, scuffs, abrasions/rubbing, loss to gilding and paint. Interior lined, tears in fabric. See photos.
