Frame with a label from Havard Frères, Montparnasse, Paris. Framed dimensions are 22 1/2 x 36 1/2 inches.
Two areas of the sky fluoresce under UV light, but it seems to be the result of the discolored varnish rather than retouch, and there is no sign of damage on the reverse. The varnish discoloration presents as tan splotches and also as amber-colored drips on the surface. Areas of craquelure overall, with a small area of lifting located in the sand between the beach chair and the man walking with a child on the far right. Multiple tiny paint losses presenting as white specks on the foreground chairs at left and the figure in the lavender dress on the far left. Abrasions along the left edge.
